Some people

So if you read my post yesterday you will understand what I am talking about, if you don't understand see yesterday's post point 2.

Thanks to all of you who posted comments about my "botox discussion" at school.  This morning part 2.  OK I have to say that I don't dislike everyone who lives in Southern California, of course there are plenty of perfectly normal people here.  I also I have to say that after 11 years of me living here, I still don't fit in most of the time.  I am OK with this.   People are different here.  Yes it is true like Amanda said in her comment yesterday. there is a lot of pressure here about how people - and by that I mean mainly WOMEN look.  I found this to be very sad actually.  I remember when I got pregnant I was petrified at the thought of having a girl.  I thought I would fail as a mother of a California girl.  No kidding.  I was convinced that she would end up not liking having a mom like me : not girlie Canadian with an accent mom who likes sports and dislike make-up.   I was so happy both times when I was told I was having a baby boy.  So anyway, this morning, the botox gal came to see me and says this : "I got you a discount card with my guy if you ever want to try a little Botox just say Heather sent you!" All that with a big smile!  I know she means well.  I hope she does.  I was speechless.  I wish someone had taken a picture of my face,  really.  Now this poor gal is not even 30 yet.  I really don't care about what she thinks of my looks.  All I care is what Bill thinks and so far I am still OK.. ha ha!  What makes me sad is that she has a daughter...anyway I ended up not taking the card from her hand.  I thought it was the best way of letting her know that I'm good and no thanks without saying any bad words that the little ears at school could have heard.  I just waited for her to go back to her friends.   This made me think of a bad episode of Gossip Girls...yes yes I am guilty of watching that...So I think it was the end of that non sense. I hope it was.. (I should say I don't juge people using that stuff.)

Rest day today, I still don't like them at least I have a basketball practice this afternoon, will move a little bit!!!

Next time, you should say "why dont you try exercising, thats a natural way of looking younger" and hand her a picture of your 13.1 finisher medal

A long time ago a friend of mine told me "When I see all of the so called normal people I'm glad I'm not one of them." Don't worry about fitting in. It is over rated.

Thank goodness for basketball practice! I think you handled this the best way possible (again).

That is so rude! WHO does that?? I don't know what I would have done in that situation!

Last time I got my hair cut, I told the lady that I wanted something easy to take care of because I don't have a lot of time in the morning. She responded, "I don't think it's that you don't have time... I think you just don't care about how you look." I thought it was so rude! She JUST met me! How does she know what I have time for or what I care about?

Just like you said, "Some people!"

I'm almost laughing a bit here as Minnesota has got to be the farthest thing ever from Southern California! We just eat meatloaf and hug everybody....

Completely tactless-you are a better woman than me. Yes-nasty Jenn would have surfaced at that comment!

Hope the rest day went well and you are enjoying your weekend!!
