Brrrrr and Run Dean Run!!

It is cold in Southern California, even for this Quebecer!
This is a double race weekend for me. Yikes!

I just saw on the news that we may get snow! We are used to having the mountains white but in 11 yrs that I have been living here I have never seen snow on the ground in my town.  We are about 30 minutes drive from the mountains here.  I sure hope we do get snow!!!

Tomorrow is my Run with Dean Karnazes at 8 am and I hope we don't get crazy rain storms between 7:30 and 8:30..after that I don't care!!!  He started his adventure this morning here in California.  Here's a picture from the start at Disneyland:

He has almost ran 32 miles so far.  You can track him live here: http://www.mapmyrun.com/celebrity/4890966/landing

I cannot wait to see how it will be tomorrow! I hope I get to meet him but if not that is OK, it will be a great experience.

I have a 10k race on Sunday and now I got a mini shoe problem.  If it is pouring rain tomorrow morning and I wear my running shoes they will be completely soaked...will they dry before my 10k race?  I need them for my race that is for sure.  Now I am thinking of wearing my old running shoes for tomorrow.  It is just 5k and it is not a race, only problem is the shoes I wear now are stability ones and my old shoes are cushioned.  I would not want to get weird pain by wearing the old shoes...ahhh I am giving myself a headache over shoes now!

Do you have a space heater? if so stick the wet shoes in front of them till they dry out

Good luck at all the races this weekend

in addition to the space heater, put newspaper inside the shoes, that takes out the moisture as well. Worse case, I put mine in the dryer for a few minutes. If you do that once, it won't damage the show. Good luck on both races!!

I was going to suggest the same thing Christine did - if all else fails, the dryer is a great way to dry wet shoes.

Thanks for posting the link to Dean's live feed. I'll definitely be keeping tabs on that myself. Hope you get to meet him!

We were forecasted to get snow on Saturday too... up here in NorCal. Right now the sun is shining and the temp has gone UP. I am very dubious on the snow angle for us. My kids are getting more bummed by the moment.

And I'd do the newspaper in the shoes trick if you get caught in the rain.

Have a fun time this weekend :)

I saw on the news this morning that you guys might get snow. That's kind of crazy. Have fun at your race tomorrow, can't wait to hear your recap - how you do get to meet Dean.

Was Kelly Ripa there for the start of Dean's odyssey?
Tell him I said hey and good luck with your races!

I didn't realize the race is almost 2 hours away from me, so unfortunately, I will not be there to see Dean and more importantly, YOU.
Take lots of pictures for me though!!! Good luck at BOTH races.

This is so exciting! Have fun! Just wear your good shoes and then if you need to, just blow dry them if they are wet. right?

Good luck - don't wear your old shoes. Wear your good ones. I did that once & regretted it.
