Oh Canada!!!!!

Happy Canada day to my Canadian-blogger-friends! Canada is a great country and I am proud to be Canadian!

We are known and made fun of for being too polite and too nice.  Well I don't see nothing wrong with being nice, we could be called worst things.  We do say please and thank you a lot though, that is true.  Recently Forbes ranked the friendliest countries in the world and guess who came in first?  OH CANADA!!!

Hockey is our religion.  The last Olympic Games proved it; 2 Gold medals, cannot do better then that.

Here are some interesting facts about Canada:

Canada is the second largest country in the world behind Russia.
Population of Canada: 34,502,000 #36 in the world.  There are more people living in California (37.3 millions) than in Canada.  (USA: 311,664,000. #3 in the world).

Canada has the longest coastline of any country in the world at 151,600 miles

Basketball was invented by a Canadian: James Naismith in 1891.
The Zipper Invented by Canadian Gideon Sundback in 1913.
Le Cirque du Soleil is Canadian ( from Quebec)

the Game Trivial Pursuit is Canadian.

Famous Canadians you should follow: (sorry if I forgot some)
Neil, Anne, Laura, Jenn, Marlene, Shawn, Andrew and the unexpected runner

Happy Canada Day. I usually lurk here, sorry! I read this in a blog and thought of you, ha ha (it was a baseball blog)

Today is Canada Day, when the great nation to our North marks the unification of three British provinces into an independent country. To celebrate this holiday, Canadians drape themselves in their national colors, drink gallons of Labatt's, and pay homage to their country's founding father, Bryan Adams. This is in contrast to Independence Day in the United States, when Americans drape themselves in their national colors, drink gallons of Budweiser, and debate the finer points of the latest season of Jersey Shore.

The important lesson is that there is one thing that unites our two nations, besides a border and a language and an economy: our love for country, alcohol, and B-List celebrities.

@Kristin: I would not compare Bryan Adams (so not B list) to the cast of Jersey Shore (so D list)
but that is just me.
