I think have a stalker

Thank you for the nice comments and email on my mother's day post.  I appreciate every single one of them.

Went to the gym today for a 5 miles run on the TM.
I have a friend at the gym, his name is Vic, I mentioned him before on my blog.  He is 67 yrs old, was in the navy, he used to be a marathoner and he is completely inappropriate 90% of the time.   He knows everyone at the gym.
So this morning I showed up and he was working on his 6 packs and he tells me some guy has been asking if he knew what time his "running lady friend" would arrive.  This guy was the same dude I talked about in this post here, the one who thanked me for the nice pace.  Vic is kind of protective of his gal pals so he of course did not say: "She'll be here at 9!" or worst : "Caroline will be here at 9!"  Instead he just informed this dude that I was married and the guy said " Are you sure? She does not wear a ring!" AHHHHHHHHHH CREEPY.  Then Vic told him I was too old for him.  Nice!

So after being informed of this little chat.  I went upstairs where the treadmills are and the guy was not there.  But like less then a minute later he showed up. CRAP.  Quick quick I put the headphones on and I started running.  The TM next to me was free so of course he takes it...and this was my lucky day because that TM went on strike...did not work!!!!

I have not been wearing my wedding band or ring since I lost so much weight because they both fall off of my finger now and I am afraid to loose them of course.  Time for an adjustment I think!!!

5 miles went great!

Last week  was my post half marathon week, I did not follow any plan.
I did this

Mon: rest
Tue: 3 miles
Wed: 3.5 miles
Thu: 4 miles
Fri: rest
Sat: 4 miles
Sun: 4 miles
total: 18.5 miles

This week back on a plan.  Next race: 10k  June 5th in QUEBEC!!!!

I don't wear my ring right now, either (but sadly, for the opposite reason).

Yep, looks like it's time for a ring fitting!

Creepy stalkers... I thought you might be referring to me! And how I blog-stalk you and am even planning on maybe showing up at a race you are running in come the fall. Maybe if you puke in front of StalkerMan he'll bug off?

You are waaayyy to pretty not to be wearing a ring :) Just sayin -

I have a 10k That same weekend!! YAY US!

Are you sure this guy isn't someone like CoachK in hiding? That would be creepy too.

On the other side of the coin, at least he referred to you as a "lady." There are many other words which would increase the creepy quotient.

Yeah, that's a little creepy for sure. Too bad he can't admire you from afar, maybe blog about how he could get to know you, enlist some blog friends to suggest strategies...that might've been better than asking Vic. On the other hand, it hasn't gotten our friend any further than your stalker managed. :)

Yea for conveniently malfunctioning TMs!

I have to say, I'll take a compliment from pretty much anywhere I can get it, but it's a shame when they spoil it by being creepy.

I hate those creepy guys. Every gym has at least one! Get your ring re-sized!!

Nice post half marathon week. You got out there for a bunch of miles, good for you!

Don't you miss wearing your ring? I'm with everyone else, get it resized right away.

Ew, totally creep-tastic. He was asking about you? I'd get my rings fitted and maybe change up my gym schedule if possible.

Caroline said...

Yes, he was asking about me..

Cari: thank you you are too sweet. I can say 100% for sure I am not even close to being pretty at the gym!!!

Kate: that was hilarious!!!!

will get on the ring project this weekend..
my 10th wedding anniversary is coming up this month I guess that is the perfect time!

Glad you are getting the ring situation taken care of to ward off the creepy gym stalkers.

I had a guy named Vic hit on me once. It was sweet. I take a compliment wherever I can get it.

Boo for creepy stalker guy! Although I'm sure he just has an innocent crush on you...but yes time to get that ring sized :)

Ewww, thats gross, I hate when people view a gym as a non alcoholic pick up bar. Go, get your sweat on, leave. Stop hitting on people, its creepy

Woohoo for racing back home, you have to be really excited, I am racing that weekend too

I think Bill can take the guy. Tell him you'll meet him in the alley out behind the gym and "Whammo", Bill will sock him int he old kisser and the guy will never bug you again.

RoseRunner said...

awhahaha. someone has a crush on you, pretty thing! thats pretty much how I hand male attention too. run!

Wow that guy sounds really creepy! Glad that Vic is playing the role of bodyguard for you, that guy sounds awesome. I guess if it gets really out of control and uncomfortable, a talk with the gym might be in order. You don't want to dread going to the gym because you might run into someone there - it's almost like dreading going to school because a bully might be there or something!

Thanks for your comment on my blog today, I actually think your analysis of Idol is right on, haha While Hailey is a really good singer, youre right that she doesn't seem to be able to take criticism. Scotty might not be as talented vocally, but he seems to have a massive audience support, and is very likeable. So it wouldn't surprise me at all if Hailey goes home today. I'm with you, James has been my favorite from the very beginning, Lauren has just started to enter my mind as my other favorite. I'm hoping its James vs Lauren at the end! =) And I am officially a dork for all this Idol analysis!

Ah... those Navy men!!!!
A secret... I spent 20 years of my life in the Coast Guard (in Italy the Coast Guard is a branch - category - of the Navy and we follow the same courses and trainings).
