Meli Melo

Rest Day today like that was not enough to drive me a little nuts..the kids also had the day off!! BOTH OF THEM!!  I love my boys but they are in a phase where they fight over the air they breath.  Really...This morning I had to listen to this : "Mom! Will is looking at my DOOR and I don't want him to!!"  It was 7:49 am.  I almost went to the gym.  Instead I was a good mommy and I took them to see Gnomeo and Juliet.  We get to the theater and it was packed!  A huge line at the ticket counter.  I did not get it.  All this for a movie about GNOMES??????  Well no.  It was for that Canadian kid...the Bieber. I am so grateful I don't have girls.  I don't think I could do the Bieber thing.   Jonathan kept yelling to everyone listening "he sings like a GIRL!" Yeah we did not make any new friends while waiting in line!!!

My basketball practice got canceled because the gate to the school yard was locked.  That sucked.  Big game tomorrow with very little preparation.

If you have been reading all my blah blah since the beginning you know that my family thinks I am crazy for taking on running and my age (that is what they say).  Since my weight loss they all think I will break if I exercise.  They mean well, I think, but they also drive me crazy and their comments are sometimes very negative. After my half marathon they were hoping I would say "never again" and praying I would not say "ready for the marathon".  There was no good job or anything that comes close to that.  My dad asked if I was done.  My mom said I looked terrible on the pictures, meaning really tired.  I told her it is normal to be tired and to look tired  after running over 2 hours.  My brother who has always been very active (and who is 6'5" and maybe 170 lbs on a good day) thinks I should just take some yoga class and give up running because "it is too "extreme" for me and I don't eat enough calories in a day for all the running I do."  This coming from a guy who as not seen me since September of 2009!  So I called them today, my parents and then my brother and I told them I am running another half marathon in May.  This is what I got at the other end of the line:...............................................................
Silence.
And then when they finally talked both my brother and my dad said the same thing and this is on separate calls: "Why would you do that to yourself?" Well that made me a little sad and a little mad at the same time but it is OK.   The 3 most important adult guys in my life  have something in common.   See for yourself...There is Bill, my husband, my brother and my dad.

Thank God Bill only shares the lack of hair with my brother and my dad and that he does support me in my running adventures!   I am planning to do a race in Quebec when I go in June and those other 2 are NOT invited!

Did you visit Kovas blog today?  I agree with him Chris K deserves one of these entries from the SUAR giveaway...he did promise world peace AND on my personal advice, he promise to wear an Athleta running skirt...don't you want to SEE THAT PICTURE?!!!!
