Bonjour my friends
Just a quick race report
Pictures will follow...when I get home!
This morning I ran the 10k La Desecente Royale in my hometown
It was fantastic. Beautiful course. Lot`s of supporters and volunteers.
I did my best time: 1:00 FLAT.
I was not in top condition. Major congestion thanks to really bad allergies...Quebec is a lot GREENER then California!
and I slept 3 hours last night (last night was my 25th year High School reunion)
So I am HAPPY HAPPY.
I was fighting dry heaves in the last mile, was pretty bad, my mom saw me almost collapse near the finish and I ran the last 0.25 miles in a lot of pain because of the dry heaves, the worst I have had so far in a race.
I scared her I think. She asked "Why do you do this to yourself and YOU PAY FOR THIS?" !!!
Right now as I type this I still feel like crap. I had to cancel a visit with some friends, I think I push my old body to it`s limits.
Thank you to all of you who have left comments while I am here!
I appreciate this a lot!
2 more days until we go back to California. I am sad and it will be hard to say goodbye.
High School reunion was a BLAST! 175 of us were there and some teachers also. Most of the people have not changed. I got recognized by everyone but 1! Pretty good average! I am the one who is the furthest away from here and I am the only nut case who runs! They were all calling me "The marathoner" I kept saying "no just half!!!"

An hour!!!!! holy heck, woman! I really cannot believe what a solid runner you are becoming right before our eyes :) It is exciting to watch and read about... and quite inspiring, too! So glad you had a fun reunion! I just bought my ticket for my 30th one that will happen in July :P I am getting so old! And I did enter LB ... officially doing it :)
Great JoB!!! I feel so bad that you get so sick... Awesome PR - that is one of my goals 10K in an hour... So Awesome!!
Congrats on the awesome race time!!! But sorry you didn't feel so well. Have a safe trip home!!
Congrats on the 10k--especially with so little sleep and dry heaves!
:)
Don't you mean you said, "Non juste demi"?
Good job on battling through. I cannot imagine running a race after my 10 year h.s. reunion like you did.
Congrats!!! I can't believe you ran a 10K the night after your 25 year reunion. You are determined girl!!! Wow-you are making some great improvements too even if it ends up in dry heaves. Sorry about that:( ISHHH! Enjoy the rest of your trip and again, SUPER job!!!!
The dry heaves sound no fun but you continued and you did it! Yeah!
Congrats on a great race - congestion, dry heaving and all! :)
So glad that the reunion was fun!
Way to tough it out.
It seems most non runners don't know how far a marathon is. To them all races are marathons.
Congrats on an awesome race! Glad you had a great time at the reunion.
I'm a Canadian in exile too, and going back to the Great White North tomorrow. Your post just made me even more excited about the trip.
Wow, awesome race! So sorry you aren't feeling well, but glad the reunion was fun. Save travel back to CA.
It must have been awesome to be back for the reunion not to mention be able to run there!
I like your mom's quote. My mother used to say the same.
You ran a great race despite the problems. Congrats. Sometimes it's very hard to finish .... but you are a real runner and as Bruce Springsteen sings...you are "tougher than the rest". Brava.
YAY!!! GREAT JOB C!!! Sounds like despite the allergies, you conquered the race!!!
Sorry I'm just now catching up on blogs - way to gut it out like the champion you are! Dry heaves the last mile - wow!
Ha gotta love moms. Mine would totally say that if she ever saw me run. way to push through. Not feeling good stinks.
