I want to thank all of you who left me "happy birthday" messages yesterday!
I appreciate them all and I am touched by your kindness.
I had a great day, I got to run outside instead of my usual Tuesday treadmill run. I got some nice gifts and I got to go see HOOD TO COAST!
Did you see it? I hope many of you had the chance to see it. It was GREAT. No really it was. Better then I expected. I loved everything about it, I could have watched that for hours! I laughed : Dead Jocks and Rachel...really hilarious I want to be on THEIR team! I cried: team Ryan...so sad..I never want to be that mom... And what about Kathy! She is one of a kind. If you saw it; the visit at her Doctor right before the race is priceless! He told her not to run the first leg and she looked at him with a smile and what did she do? She ran the first leg!
This made me want to
1. Go for a run a 11 pm..no no I did not..Bill would never let me: the man got me pepper spray for my birthday for my Sunday long runs...!
2. Do that race one day, those of you who did run it, you are so lucky!!!
People clapped at the end..that is always a good sign, the theater was not full..not even close, that tells me I don't live in a town of runners!
Went to bed way pass my bedtime but it was worth it!
I went for a 5 miler instead of 3 since I could run outside today also, will do 3 tomorrow on the treadmill.
Again thank you all for your lovely comments...and oh no no I am not a genius, far from it, trust me: see the blond hair on my head well that is all natural...so there you go....

Me and GU are not a good fit. :(
I tried Vanilla yesterday and it was just OK. Really sweet for me and I could only take half. Today I opened a Mint Chocolate GU I won in a giveaway. Oh boy....for sure I cannot take that one. I took a tiny quantity and I had heartburn almost instantly, I should have known with the chocolate. All the other flavors I have here are sweet so I anticipate not so great results. The coffee one might be OK, we will see.
I went to 3 different places looking for PLAIN GU today and no luck.
Can I run a Half Marathon and not take anything but water? I am sure lots of people do it right?
Tomorrow is HOOD TO COAST day!!!!!
I cannot wait!!!!!
Are you going?
I went to the movies yesterday and I wanted to make sure I would not have any issues with the passes that I won through the Runner's World Best race ever contest and they told me no problem that this will be a special event and the winners will be taken to special seats!
I am so looking forward to it and it is my birthday tomorrow!

Thank God for running
Today would have been a disaster if I did not get to run 5 miles this morning.
Thank God for running!
I think I would have lost my mind without it today.
Everything went crazy today. Could not find my Cell phone before leaving the house this morning, barely made it in time to drop my older son at his school.
Then rushed, I mean drove at the speed limit to get my youngest one at his school.
Before all this I had to referee at least 4 stupid arguments between those 2 and also deal with a tamper tantrum over wearing a coat when it is 6 degrees Celsius outside!
Then a break: 5 miles of peace and quiet with my pal Lance Armstrong talking to me and telling lies after lies about how fast I am while my other pal Garmin brings me back to reality and shows me how slow I really am.
Then back to the craziness....
1 tire went flat...need to change 2...Merry post Christmas expense I did not need!
My older son decided to go on homework strike...now that was fun and then I had to coach his basketball team! A bunch of 6-7 yrs old boys who don't listen to a word I say is just what I needed at the end of this day!!
I am ready for some TV time and some that does not require a lot of thinking so sorry Simon Baker no Mentalist for me tonight it will be more like Brad the Bachelor!
Yes yes I am guilty of watching that...!
Oh I almost forgot, something good: I got the tickets that I won for HOOD TO COAST THE MOVIE in the mail today!!!

It's ranining again...
After a couple of days of sunshine the rain is back in Southern California....Good thing today I only had a 3 mile run to do. I waited for a little break from the dripping clouds and headed out! I love running when it is cooler..today it was about 10 Celsius...perfect!
I took my kids to see Yogi Bear as promised....they loved it, I almost fell asleep but that is OK.
Is your birthday close to the Holidays?
Mine is right AFTER. The absolute worst when you are a kid. Nobody cares. Actually most of my friends even forget. You get the famous double-gift, no party because everyone is partied out and it is also really close to back to school, basically it sucks!
At my age of course I don't care about my birthday anymore other then I get this about 2 days after Christmas: "OK Now what do you want for your birthday?" and not in the nicest tone, more like tell me what you want so we can get this out of the way kind of tone. I get it from my brother, my mom and now even my husband....! They will ask every day until they get an answer. Well this year I have decided not to answer that question! If they cannot come up with something then so be it. Last time I checked it was not my fault that I was born that day. One of my best friend back home was born December 24th and I have always sent a birthday present wrapped in non Christmassy paper for her separate from the Christmas presents and cards. It is not that hard.
My youngest son is born February 2nd. Not too close to the Holiday season but still kind of close and I always make sure to make a big deal for his birthday just like I do for his brother who was born in June. I don't tell him he cannot have toys just because he just got some new ones at Christmas!
On my birthday this year I will get to go see Hood to Coast! That will be awesome I know it!
I saw the preview today and it looks GREAT! If you want to know if it plays near you look on the right side of my blog and you can find the info!
