I wrote that not so long ago for #3. This one came up so fast. I never stopped traininng since Disneyland but I feel like I did not follow the full plan for this one. It is silly I know.
This week training

Fri: Rest
Sat: 3 easy miles
Sun: 8 miles
total: 27 miles.
I had to cut short on Wednesday and yesterday also.
Wednesday I had a Dr appt. I got the results of my blood test. I have another thing to had to my list of crap: HYPOTHYROIDISM. One more pill to add to my cocktail. This one is a pain in the butt. I have to take it when I get up on an empty stomach and I cannot eat or drink for 1 hour after I took it. So this means setting the alarm 30 min earlier on school days and take the pill and try to go back to sleep..yeah right. On long run or race days...I cannot think of a solution so I have decided to skip the dose on those days. This pill is natural T3, T4, Nature-Throid not Synthroid so that is good but it will increase my metabolism and that helps with weight loss. I don't need to loose more weight. I have to take the pill because this condition affects the level of my triglycerides and I don't want it to be high of course. My cholesterol is low and all my other numbers are good. My weight is low for my height and my % body fat is good (18.2 today). My triglycerides levels are not ideal and same for my T3-T4 and the good Dr said if my T3-T4 are better the triglycerides will be better also. In one month we will do another test to see if the numbers are better.
Saturday I cut short because of a double soccer program in the family. That is more important than the mileage of a turtle so I did 3 miles only. I went at 1 pm and it was over 90 and very windy. This was a hard 3 miles.
This morning I had my last long run; 8 miles alone, no partner today. It went OK. It took a couple of miles to get a in a good place.
This week: TAPER. Blah. I will try to rest as much as I can. I will be tired for this Half Marathon because of the concert the night before so I will do my best this week to rest and get more sleep.
I made shirts for the kids to wear at the concert on Saturday. Jonathan who is the lucky one who will meet Keith (Urban) said he needed a new Keith shirt because Keith has already seen the one he has. RIGHT...
I used pictures I took myself and I added a text to it.
Will picked first because he does not get to go meet him and he picked the first one. I am looking forward to go see KU with the kids!
Game 3 of the soccer season yesterday and Will scored his first goal!
He is not the most aggressive kid on the field, he likes to run but he does not really GO for the ball that much. Scoring a goal is a big deal. I jumped out of my chair like this was the World Cup. I must have looked like a crazy person but I don't care!!!!
Here are some soccer pictures starting with my new favorite picture.

So sorry you have to take another pill-boo to that. But I have to say, I'm jealous of that 18.2% body fat. :^)
Yay Will on the goal! So cute! When I was a kid I played soccer and never scored a goal. Talk about not aggressive. :^)
So awesome about your son's soccer ... what a cutie pie and such a great athlete. Must get it from his momma!! :)
Sorry about the extra pill, what a royal pain, but hopefully this will be short-lived after the numbers are retested soon!
Happy Taper (blah) week! :)
The majority of females in my family have hypothyroidism. I don't think they have to worry quite so much about when to take the pill, but of course everyone is different. Me, I am on the opposite end of the spectrum with hyperthyroidism. I'm supposed to take a pill every day but running helps so I don't have to take them as often.
Good luck on the half, and have a great time at the concert!
Cute pics of Will!
I am heading into taper and trying to be positive and not let it get into my head this time around...
Sorry to hear about the thyroid condition. And it does sound like a major PITA to take that pill.
Very cute little soccer stud pics!
Enjoy your taper week!
Concert then a race the next day, sounds like me with football and a race the next day
I've been on synthroid for years and years, and I've worked out a system. I do drink coffee in less than an hour, and it's been ok. Sorry you have to add this to your list.
Yay on the soccer goal, and good luck with tapering.
@ShebaJC and Carla: I have a different kind of pill, not Synthroid. I take natural hormones, Nature-Throid
That new pill sounds horrible!! I have my daily pill for Meniere's disease. Happily I just get to take it with whatever I want and I don't feel negative side effects from it. It does make me pee all day though - so I sometimes adjust whether or not I'm going to take it before a run/race. The two times I did take it are the only two times I've had to potty during a race - but then if I don't take it I have bad Meniere's effects, so it is kind of like I have to pick which annoyance do I want on race day.
Hopefully you'll figure out something that works for you or you'll figure out a way to get more sleep after taking it - but that does sound hard!
I am so looking forward to meeting you this weekend!!!
Hope the thyroid med works for you :)
Thank you again for your kind post and comments.
Sorry for the pills but I hope that they can help you to solve the problem.
Congrats to the "goleador" and his ....proud mom.
Enjoy this period of tapering and good luck for a new PB on the distance.
I have my 4th on Nov 6 in Santa Clarita. (Is that near you?) We're kinda on the same schedule. GL on your 4th Half!!
Just a note re: your hypothyroid and taking your pill. I switched back to synthroid (NOT generic) after years of feeling "yuck" on other stuff. Was on Armour Thyroid for many years. Now supplement with Liothyronine 2x day and BOY has it mad a difference in my energy levels and respiration/muscle gain, etc. I am 58 and had Graves Disease (Hyperthyroid 21 years ago.) Hope your meds work for you. A hint tho...I take mine on an empty stomach with some coffee before I run...no problems here!
made not mad! whoops!
