Foam Roller and Valentine's Day Winner!

Taper week.., again....I feel like I am always back to Taper lately.  The only thing I am changing from last week is adding a day of rest.   I am hoping for COOL weather for Sunday.  I am now 100% convinced that it is required for me to do well.
Went for 4 miles TEMPO this morning.   I am still in my Brooks.  I will only use those shoes until the RnR Pasadena Half Marathon Sunday.

I bought one of these:

Of course I have no clue what to do with it.  I mean not REALLY.  I need to do some research.  If  you know good website for this let me know please.  I will start with Runner's World.  Do you have one of these? How many times a week do you use it?

If you are a regular reader you know that my family LOVES this guy:

It's because of my kids that I know who Keith Urban is really.  He is great and in concerts he is fantastic, the best I have seen I think, but on April 27 I will have to cheat on Keith because before Keith, there was this guy:

The Boss himself!  I have been dying to see him in concert since I am in High School..I mean it, I wanted to be Courtney Cox in the video Dancing in the Dark.  I have all his albums, I have some in Vynil records, cassette tapes and Cds of course.   I cannot wait to see him in concert.  Bill is not sharing my love of Springsteen but he has agreed to come with me.

OK now the winner of my Milestone Jewelry Valentine Giveaway

and that is

Erica!
Congratulations!!!
Email me your info please!

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone!

Have a happy taper! And more important, have a lot of fun at your race!!

I have a foam roller just like yours and I use it after almost every run. I slowly roll out my IT bands, and I also do my hamstrings and calves. It's not great getting into the glutes--for that I use a tennis ball. I credit this thing with being the reason I've never had a spot of trouble with my IT bands.

enjoy taper!

I keep getting tempted to get the foam roller but then realize that I wouldn't have a clue what to do with it either! lol

Bruce is great in concert - as a Jersey girl it's pretty much a required concert to attend at least once… My sister is a die-hard fan and has probably seen him no less than 20 times.

Enjoy!

Foam rolling is awesome! I do it after every run, mainly on my IT band to help get the soreness out. It helps to prevent injury I think. I first bought a soft foam roller like you bought, then I upgraded to the GRID for a harder foam roller.

There are a lot of foam roller videos out there, here is one on youtube I found:

Enjoy seeing The Boss! He is still going strong!

You know....if you weren't always racing you wouldn't be always tapering... :) I'm just jealous, you know! I haven't done a single race this year!! Train train train...

Happy Valentine's Day to you, my friend! I was so glad when I saw you got the tickets. :)

Question: How can a guy from Australia have the bona-fides for Country Music? Just a thought.

Welcome to a love/hate relationship with your roller, you will hate the pain it brings, but will love how you feel afterwards

I love my foam roller too. I have a super duper one that is pretty painful but does the job. Good Luck this weekend in Pasadena!

I have 3 foam rollers actually. All different sizes and density. I don't use them nearly enough these days but when I'm on my best behavior I roll after a long run and then at night a couple times a week.

I got a really good dvd with my first one from Go Fit. I'm not sure if they sell it separately or not.

Hope tomorrow goes well! :)

I have a foam roller but don't use it nearly as much as I should. I will say thought, that it did wonders on my IT last year! Google it... you'll find tons of resources!
