November not my favorite month

Last week training
Mon: 2 miles only, busy day Aquarium and Halloween..excuses, excuses, I know
Tue: 4 miles
Wed: 4 miles
Thu: 5 miles HILLS
Fri: REST
Sat: Long Run 9 miles
Sun: 3 miles
total: 27 miles

I decided to do more Hills to prepare for my upcoming HILLY races.  First one is this Sunday.
Mission Inn 10k.
I return to this race for the 2nd time.  Last year I did it and it was my very first 10k.  My time sucked of course, I did not know what I was doing but I finished.  This year I want to do better.  I know I will.  Since that race I took more than 12 min off my time.  That course is not easy, it is hilly and it is also windy.  There is a section that is a bike trail and is near a freeway so open fields and no wind protection, last year it killed me.  I know what to expect this year so that is a plus.  I lay at night and think of the hills and the wind...that is not stressful one bit.  Oh and did I mention it is suppose to RAIN Sunday and be cold...well California cold..like in the low 50s.  Cold I love, rain not as much.  I bought a running jacket today just in case, a super light one just to keep dry without over heating.  I found it at the Nike Outlet $20 off.

The next 3 weeks promise to be hmm challenging and by that I really mean INSANE.  This week is parents/teacher conference.  The kids are being dismissed at 1:30 instead of 3 pm every day and Friday they are off.  Next week is early dismissal every day, I don't know why and then Thanksgiving week.  Why do we need so much time off in November??  To give my boys more opportunity to fight about stupid things that's why! To add to this craziness Bill is back to working insane hours, day and night and 7 days a week. BOOOOO!

Soccer season is almost over.  I am sad about that.  I love going to the games on Saturday.  This weekend was rough...we lost both games: "a lot to not much" like Jonathan said.  It's OK, they still had a good time.  The weather was great, sunny and about 50 degrees on Saturday.

I went for my 9 miles before the first game because we had rain on the forecast for Sunday (and it was correct!).  After the games I went to the movies and saw "SARAH'S KEY".  This is one of my favorite book and the movie is only showing in selected theaters.  I knew the movie was made in France and that the original version was mostly in French so I was hoping to see that one and I did! What a treat! 85% in French with English subtitles.  It was great and true to the book.  If you liked the book I highly recommend the movie.

Some soccer pics.  Every week I take about 300 pictures at the games.  I take some of all the kids not just mine and I created websites for our teams where parents can see and download the pics.

Bill and Jonathan on tunnel duty!

The is one of Will's friend!

OMG, the Angry Runner... hilarious!!

I am NOT looking forward to Mission Inn. If it's raining, I might skip it. More than cold, I hate wet cold. Feh.

Oh I loved Sarah's Key! Was very neat to read just after we returned from Paris!

I am a HUGE wimp about running in the rain, however, last year I did a race in December where it was in the 30's and raining. I was plenty warm in running tights and a long-sleeved shirt under a short-sleeved one. As long as you keep moving you'll be warm enough. If it's windy, though, I imagine you'll be glad to have the jacket.

I think it is wonderful that you are taking so many pictures of your kids and family.

I loved Sarah's Key. I hope it comes out on DVD sooner than later. Thanks for the recommendation. Sometimes movies really let the book down.

And, what is up with the kids barely being in school in November. It's that way up here too.

When would you run if you had to drop your kids off at school and then go to a job? Me- 5 a.m. BEFORE work.
Thank god for public schools, hmm?

I love the pictures... and that's awesome that you started a website for the team. Everyone will treasure those as the kids get bigger!

Best of luck this weekend!!!

Someone took some great action shots. It's nice to know going into a race that you should kill it compared to your previous time. Fifty degrees sounds like perfect running weather to me, unless there is much wind. A lightweight jacket like you got will do you good.
