Packing for Hood to Coast- A new playlist and it's GIVEAWAY time!

The countdown to HOOD to COAST is on!

I think I have been pretty reasonable about HTC in my posts, trying to  not get on the nerves of those of you who are not interested in reading 44 posts a day about that race-relay.  Now that we are getting really close to it I cannot not talk about it.

In one week from TODAY I will be on my way to Seattle.  To the Nuun Headquarters!
I cannot wait!

Packing for Hood to Coast is a bit of a challenge.  I will need things for the relay of course and it has to be kept to a minimum because well 6 runners plus 1 driver plus supplies...the space will be limited.  I also need stuff for the 2 days I will spend in Seattle....

I know some of you have done relay like this before...HTC or Ragnar.

Tell me
1.  Something you wish you had packed that you did not bring.
2.  What did you bring that you did not need.

I am on Team Night!
I decided to make a Playlist for my van (VAN 1)

Since we are talking about Hood to Coast I thought I would do another

 NUUN GIVEAWAY!

Here is your chance to win a Nuun bottle and a tube of Nuun tablets!

How to win:

1. You must be a Follower of this blog.  Leave a comment.
2. Share on your blog or twitter.  Leave me the link to the post or the tweet.

Open to all readers from any country.  Winner will be chosen with random.org.  You have until Sunday to enter!

Remember a post about my new addiction here?
I said the 1st person to guess it would get an extra entry.  Jenn gets it she guessed right:

Yep I am addicted to Angry Birds.  It is not even funny and the worst part is I suck at it. I totally blame these 2 for this

  5. I'm a follower (of course).

Thing I wish I'd brought: sunscreen. ShowerPill wipes would be good too (though I didn't know about them at the time of my relays).

  6. I'm getting for a relay this weekend thru the Tetons. Last year we found we all brought too much food. But I'm glad I brought my protein recovery drink. Kept me full and was easy on my tummy. I know that's a personal thing. MonkeyButt wipes are good...no great! I also found myself eating more salty snacks than usual because it was hot. I only brought 1 pair of running socks and this year will bring 3.

Have Fun! It's going to be awesome!!

  7. follower of your blog. I'd highly recommend bring some body spray or febreeze... you will smells, and the van will reek as well.

also I was in seattle a few weeks ago for the ragnar nw passage relay--- when touring the city afterward I was surprised at how cold it was--- bring a lightweight jacket or throwover SEPARATE from your running stuff so it doesn't smell :)

    1. I wish I'd remembered clothes to wear for AFTER my last leg, especially since I was in van 1.

    2. I wish I hadn't brought ALL THE SNACKS. We really overloaded the van in snacks, thinking we'd be eating on the road. Wasn't the case, and snacks can only last so long, some point you need for real fuel ;).

  13. I have never done HTC but have done a Ragnar Relay. I wish I had brought babywipes or some other wipes to wipe myself down after my runs (or at least I am sure my van buddies wish I had). I am a follower too!

  18. I ran H2C last year. I'd recommend you bring a FULL change of clothes for each leg. That includes a hat, if you run with headgear. Last year, I only brought two hats and they were both soaking wet by my last leg. When we were done, I ended up buying a hat to wear on the beach because my other hats were too sweaty and yucky. This year, I've decided not to bring as much food. I brought way too much last year. Hope this is helpful. Good luck with your packing!

  27. Tweeted! I wish I would have put my 'civilian' clothes in individual zip-loc bags too. Not just my running ones. I kind of didn't need a pillow as I did not sleep. At. All.
